Rhumb Line Vineyard
RLV started in 2012 when Michelle and Todd Myers purchased 40 acres in the Willcox Bench, 15 miles south of Willcox, AZ. This is a beautiful region of Arizona and has the perfect climate and soil for grape growing. At the time of purchase, we were spending a lot of time in the San Diego area learning how to sail. We both became certified sailers and continued to enjoy the peaceful beauty of the sport. This is where the name for the vineyard originated. A Rhumb line is a sailing term.
In navigation, a rhumb line, is an arc crossing all meridians of longitude at the same angle, that is, a path with constant bearing as measured relative to magnetic north. For us, it was both metaphorical and literal. Stay on target and you will eventually get there. It worked. Here we are. Thus, our vineyard, Rhumb Line Vineyard began. We are happy to be here, and we hope you enjoy the fruits of our labor, literally.
